One day, a 17-year-old boy, who works part-time at Pizza Hut, drove up to his house in a stunning Porsche. His parents, taken aback by the sight of the luxurious car, immediately questioned him about its origins.
“How did you get that car?” they asked, astonished.
With a nonchalant tone, the boy replied, “I bought it today.”
His mother, worried and incredulous, pressed on, “With what money? A Porsche is way out of your budget!”
The boy calmly explained, “It’s a used car, and I got a great deal. I only paid $20 for it.”
This revelation left his parents even more bewildered. “Who in their right mind would sell a Porsche for $20?” his mother asked, flabbergasted.
The boy responded, “The lady who lives up the street. I don’t really know her; she moved in recently. After I delivered her pizza, she offered to sell me the Porsche for $20.”
Driven by a mix of anger and curiosity, the parents hurried to the new neighbor’s house, demanding an explanation. They found the woman calmly tending to her garden.
The father approached her and said, “I’m the father of the boy you sold a Porsche to for $20. We need to understand why you did that.”
Without missing a beat, the woman looked up and explained, “I got a call from my husband this morning. I thought he was on a business trip in Florida, but it turns out he ran off to Hawaii with his secretary and doesn’t plan on coming back.”
The mother, still confused, asked, “What does that have to do with selling our son a Porsche for $20?”
With a broad smile, the woman replied, “My husband asked me to sell his new Porsche and send him the money. So, I did.”
